I am a native Santa Barbarian. I graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1976. My professional experience started with the banking industry and over eleven years I went from file clerk to operational supervisor.
I changed direction and went to work in the medical field where my duties included covering front desk, answering phones, scheduling appointments, insurance billing and coding for office visits and surgical procedures.
In 1991 I joined the staff at Affordable Office Support (AOS) where I expanded and honed my computer skills. I eventually became manager and assistant to the owner. In 2001 the owner went into semi-retirement and I took over the business. Our working relationship continues and I now subcontract work to her.
This secretarial service has a long history in Santa Barbara opening its doors in 1964 as Gwen’s Desk. Gwen sold in 1984 to Ethel/AOS and now I carry on their tradition of quality service, affordability and innovation.
